The EastBridge Foundation (EBF) finalized its commitment to support the development of a patient centered mobile app, coupled with a clinic based provider program, to improve the health monitoring of women during their pregnancy. Based on an initial EBF concept to extend data collection outside of the clinic, EBF will provide an independent grant to PT Sijarimas Teknologi Inovasi (STI), an Indonesian health IT company with deep experience working on maternal and child health issues, in collaboration with both international and Indonesian NGOs, and with Indonesian governmental authorities.
STI further developed the details of their program in collaboration with Indonesian clinical and governmental stakeholders. STI's program will be called MOMS (mobile obstetric monitoring) KEREN, which translates to Cool/Great Mothers. STI has already earned the commitment of several health districts to pilot their program after it is developed, potentially being used by more than 10,000 women in a single district. EBF believes that supporting local providers to provide local solutions that are culturally competent, locally aligned and compliant is the best approach to supporting viable health care solutions.
