Because many teenagers in the South and Central Brooklyn communities may not have access to mentors or role models to help with making an informed decision on career choices, The EastBridge Foundation partnered with the Parent Child Relationship Association to create a career webinar series profiling different careers of interest. An initial student survey showed broad interest in more than 50 careers with the top three choices being physician, lawyer and engineer.

Each webinar focused on a select career with presentation of general information such as education and training requirements, job projections and salary ranges. This was followed by a guest speaker who is a mid-career person to give their perspective and their work experience within their careers. The speaker also responded to questions submitted in advance or live from the audience. All the sessions were recorded to make them available on demand to the student participants as well as other students in PCR's programs.

In 2024, the general attendance at each webinars has been about 25-30 students and we completed five sessions: two physicians (anesthesiologist, pediatrician), a nurse practitioner, an attorney and an electrical engineer. In the future, we hope to broaden the scope to include more careers including non-traditional careers and some that do not require a college degree
